It’s PYO Fruit Season at the Farm!
There have been many challenges this year as we all deal with a multitude of issues and uncertainty, but as I say, one thing at a time. This year has and will continue to be a learning experience in a number of ways.
On a very positive note, all of our crops are looking very plentiful and clean.
Everything from strawberries, to cherries, to raspberries, blueberries and so on. We have made changes in how we conduct pick your own to ensure the safety of our food supply and customers, which you can read about here.
We are setting up for outside dining in accordance with town guidance. The Whim Farm-to-Table Dinner Series will hopefully take form shortly, and we’ll let you know as soon as we know more.
Animal Area Upgrades, and 50 Years of Farm Management
Our animal area is in the final stages of a facelift with new signage and some new animals that we will be acquiring. Many people have asked about the play area, and we hope that will be available soon as we clarify some guidance on how to safely open.
These are very difficult times for sure and hopefully there will be some good that comes out of all of this. Hardly a day goes by that someone does not thank me or tell me about them or their children growing up with the farm. It’s wonderful to hear about the memories they treasure. I am in my 50th year of managing this farm, and while at times it has been trying, overall it has been joyous and I still have a smile on my face. In closing, thank you all for your kind words and support as without you we would not be able to be here.
With gratitude,
Michael Smolak
