Ashley Piazza is our Director of Events at Smolak Farms. She started working at the farm in 2009, and will celebrate her 10th anniversary with the team this year! Ashley manages the entire events department, and oversees the sales, coordination, and management of all the different events we host at Smolak (of which there are many!)
Ashley started her her career in the events industry as a banquet server at the age of 22. She was promoted six times in three years, and at that time became the youngest ever Director of Catering at Sheraton. She left the hotel industry due to the long hours, and worked from home as a property manager while raising her son and daughter. When she was ready for her next adventure, we were fortunate enough to entice her to Smolak farms, where she’s been working her magic to turn it into the incredible wedding venue that it is today.
Since starting work at Smolak Farms, Ashley has made incredible strides in building out a robust and impressive events program that spans weddings, corporate events, social events and just about everything in between. She has brought the department from about 10 events a year, to almost 70 events a year.
When asked her favorite part of the job, Ashley says “I love ALL aspects of the job, from meeting potential clients, to coordinating every aspect of their event down to the tiniest detail, to running and overseeing the operation of their event, ensuring all of the details and services are delivered as promised, to the ultimate satisfaction of executing a great event. I love the people I meet and get to work with, I love the vendors I contract with, and I love my loyal, hardworking staff! We’re like one big family that operates a well-oiled machine.”
